Dear Parents and Guardians,
You are invited to take part in focus group workshops where you can learn about anti-racist education approaches, ask questions, and share your ideas with other parents from Redbridge schools.
If you sign up, you will take part in two sessions, the first on Friday 9th of February and the second on Wednesday 8th of May 2024. Please plan to be available for both sessions.
The Workshops will take place at;
- Mossford Primary School between 9.30-11.30 am (for Woodford/Barkingside/Hainault)
- Mayespark School between 1- 3 pm (in Goodmayes, Ilford)
You can choose which venue you attend. Refreshments will be provided.
The sessions will be run by a member of the University of Bristol. The aim of the session is for us all to learn and question together.
If you are interested in taking part, please follow the link to sign up:
https://gsoe.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/consent-form-deep-understanding-parents. We will also ask for you to provide consent to use your email details to aid us in communicating with you about the focus group sessions.
This is part of a project with the University of Bristol and the Redbridge Education Partnership. It is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and runs for 18 months (Sept 2023-Dec 2024). Other activities in the project include working with teachers and school leaders to discuss and learn about anti-racist approaches and to think through what this means for school policy and practice.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Very best
Sharon
Project Lead, University of Bristol
