New Academic year statement - September 2022

 Core school values

The school is committed to realising the following Core values:

1. Potential: everyone in the school has the right to develop their full potential in all aspects of their learning

2. Tolerance and respect: all members of the school community will show tolerance and respect to others

3. Environment: the school environment will support effective learning and all members of the community will accept their responsibility towards it

Head Teacher Vision statement

The school’s primary purpose is to meet the educational needs of the children who attend it. These are many and varied.  Educational research informs our teaching, for which we have an international reputation.  The experience of living through a global pandemic has sharpened the focus of the school to embrace clearer aims and priorities.  These are:

1. The school is an agent of social change

2. Our curriculum is exciting, relevant and challenging for all children, and reflects the global perspective of our local community

3. All teaching is inspired, passionate and personalised to meet the needs of all children

4. School leaders are well-informed, effective and passionate about their areas of responsibility

The children at Gearies are a credit to the community and are dear to us all.  We invest in their futures and relish the opportunity to serve a just society.

Our Current school priorities - 2022

How are we going to make the school even better?  We have created our latest set of priorities to do just that. They are the most important things we will be doing in school over the next year.

We will focus on the following:

a) Continue to review our Curriculum content to match children’s interests and needs

b) Develop our catch-up curriculum provision

c) Develop children’s capacity to learn effectively

d) Increase the engagement of boys and European families

e) Complete the structural review of our Inclusion teams

We are all a part of our school and all agree to take responsibility for making these Priorities happen.  We look forward to learning new things together, taking risks and enjoying our learning together.

We are all a part of our school and all agree to take responsibility for making these Big Ideas happen.  We look forward to learning new things together, taking risks and enjoying our learning together.
