Update on scheduled Relationships, Sex and Health
Education Consultation
Dear families,
I hope this letter finds you well. Our last letter
confirmed the rescheduling of the public consultation for Relationships, Sex
and Health Education (RSHE) and our commitment to consider the feedback from
stakeholders.
We will be able to share the 3rd Draft of
the syllabus soon which will be available via the FiND website. The 3rd
draft will reflect the feedback received and actioned thus far.
Wave 1 – LA led
We continue to plan for Redbridge RSHE Wave 1
consultation period to end by 30th
June 2021. These public consultation meeting(s) will be undertaken face
to face, therefore are reliant on the Government Roadmap out of lockdown
proceeding as planned.
When we can share exact dates for the planned face to
face public consultation we will. In the meantime, we will continue to share
updates via schools to you.
Wave 2 – School led
Wave 2 meetings will be organised by your school
following Wave 1. Your school will:
-
Share some planned resources/materials
-
Share amended policy
-
Discuss withdrawal process for Sex Education (where
applicable)
“Consultation is a process by which an
organisation, over a specific period of time, seeks the opinions of relevant
people about particular activities or proposals, to better understand their
views and take them into account when making final decisions. For schools,
consultation is about them providing formal channels through which parents can
express their views about certain aspects of the school’s work”
