Return from Lockdown

We are delighted to be able to reopen all the classes to our children on Monday 8th March, after the end of our third national Lockdown.  We hope you are all well and have managed to stay happy and together during this difficult time.  It will be great to welcome all the children back on the 8th, we are all looking forward to that moment.

To help you prepare your children for this please note the following important information:

Reminder of the school diary

Reception, KS1 and KS2 start to the day – children will be entering via the gates from 8:40 to 9:00am.  The Nursery sessions retain their usual timings.

The end of the school day for all classes is 3pm – all children will be in the playground awaiting collection by 3pm, at the usual lining up spaces.  Gates will remain open until all children are collected until 3:15pm.

Return of class bubbles – we return to the class bubble organisation where each class remains isolated within the school - including no school physical assemblies, individual playground zones and year group lunchtimes.  This is to prevent accidental transmission of the virus within the school and to minimise the number of children who have to self-isolate if a positive case is identified.

Our After School Club will return, with provision at the Breakfast and After school clubs running as usual each day.

All children are expected to return on the 8th, absences will be monitored.

Other items to note

We await detail of our government’s catch-up planning for the rest of the summer term.

We currently have no detail of when we can resume singing or sports in schools.

If you have borrowed a school laptop, please ensure you return it to the school office on 8th March.

Safety measures to be resumed:

There is still a potential for infection as transmission rates are still present, remember that all current infections in Redbridge are the new variants and highly contagious – if this happens the bubble will self-isolate for 10 days, following our existing procedures.  Everyone is asked to follow our previously published risk control measures, form our current Risk Assessment:

  1. On your journey to school and when on school premises all parents are advised to wear face masks
  2. Parents and carers are advised to keep 2m distance from all other adults at all times
  3. Families should continue to follow the government's Covid restrictions - no family gatherings, birthday parties or sleepovers
  4. When waiting to collect children in the playground at the end of the day, adults should avoid gathering together, they should not get close to members of staff and keep 2m distance from others at all times.  Once you have collected your child you should quickly leave the site and return straight home, please stop children playing together or playing on the playground equipment.
  5. If your child is at all ill, take no chances and book a test at your nearest Covid testing centre.  Keep your child from attending school and inform our office of your actions and any test results as soon as possible.
  6. All members of staff and adults working in the building will undertake Lateral Flow Tests twice a week on Monday and Thursday.
  7. Staff will be socially distanced by 2m from each other when outside of the classroom.
  8. Staff will wear face masks when moving around the school.
  9. Everyone is reminded to wash hands regularly or to use hand sanitiser when entering a new room
  10. Rooms will be always ventilated when occupied
  11. Surfaces and equipment in the school will be regularly wiped down during the school day
