 A Busy Week

Our first week back after half term has been very eventful, as I’m sure you are aware.  At the beginning of the week Year Two were in isolation due to a pupil with a positive case, it was really good to welcome them all back today.  My thanks to the Y2 teaching team for teaching a full round of lessons this week to support the children’s learning whilst they were at home.

Later in the week we received confirmation that a child in Year Four had also tested positive and that year group has also had to be isolated.  They are now being supported with online learning by their teachers, I hope that goes well for the next two weeks.

On Wednesday night I received instructions from the government about the need for children and members of staff who are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable to stay at home for the duration of the National Lockdown..  This has affected a few of the staff, they are all working form home also delivering online learning opportunities for children in school.

Of course Thursday morning saw the beginning of the new National Lockdown, scheduled to finish on 2nd December.  I appreciate this will be a difficult month for everyone, we will do everything in our power to support the community and look forward to enjoying our freedoms again in a less contagious environment in December.

I look forward to a quieter week next week.

Staffing news

At the start of the week we welcomed Miss Iqbal and Miss Raja to our SEND team, it is good to have them in our support team, we welcome them to our community.  On 16th November we will be welcoming more colleagues to this team including 3 SEND Apprentice Practitioners, more details will follow nearer the time.

Out-of-school hours clubs

As instructed by the DfE, we have had to suspend most of our Clubs run by outside bodies.  These will resume after National Lockdown is over.
