Staying safe online - using Zoom etc

Following guidance and direction from the LA and LGFL, please note the following guidance for using Zoom for any virtual meetings with teachers.
A Zoom meeting with school can offer a unique opportunity to receive support, particularly if this is focused on social contact, reassurance and well-being.  In order to ensure these are conducted safely and to offer protection to members of staff from privacy, security and safeguarding concerns, the following guidance will be adhered to.
1.     The school is happy for teachers to organise Zoom meetings, these appear to be particularly relevant for EYFS and KS1 classes.  There is no pressure or expectation that teachers have to do this, this is an optional form of support, especially for KS2 classes, who already spend a lot of time preparing home learning, offering feedback and answering queries on LGFL platforms and Blogs.

2.     Teachers must ask each child’s parent to give permission for them to take part in meetings, in advance.

3.     Before taking part in a meeting parents need to read the NOS “Top tips for remote learning for parents” and “What parents need to know about Zoom” documents.  If you have any questions, we are happy to answer them in advance.

4.     We recommend parents refrain from recording the sessions.

5.     Teachers have been instructed to get permission from the Head Teacher, to conduct the meeting.  All sanctioned meetings will be logged and recorded.
