Letter to parents from the Redbridge Education Partnership

Ambitious leaders - Stronger together

Reopening of schools June 2020

Dear All

I am writing to you on behalf of Redbridge Education Partnership which is a network of fifty Primary and Special schools within the London Borough of Redbridge. At this challenging time, we want to reassure you that all partnership schools are working together to share and develop plans for the reopening of schools. Schools are working closely with the local authority and other agencies to ensure that they can provide a safe environment for your children to return to when the school opens.

Discussions between schools have regularly taken place to consider and implement government and local authority guidelines and share challenges and possible solutions. These discussions have highlighted the need for schools to develop a bespoke plan for their individual school which reflects their particular and unique context. This includes availability of staff, reflecting the community the school serves and the constraints of the school’s environment. The reopening of your school may be different from other schools because of these issues

We appreciate that there are many different messages and views being expressed at this time regarding children returning to school, whether it is safe and the right time to do so and this can be confusing for some. Please be assured that the key principle of providing a safe and secure learning environment for pupils and staff is at the heart of what your head teacher aims to provide. However, it is important to repeat that all schools are committed to children returning to school as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our principle that ‘all partnership schools will collaborate together to provide excellence through school-to-school support, challenge and accountability’ means that no school needs to feel isolated or unsupported at this time.

Please be reassured that your Headteacher is working tirelessly to provide a safe and secure environment in which children can learn.
