Year 2 Home Learning Pack

All work that is completed in the journals will be showcased and celebrated when we come back.

Please ensure that the work below is completed to a high quality and standard in your journal.

Journal Work:
·         Write a diary entry for the whole week. Remember to use co-ordination and subordination, WOW adjectives, similes and alliteration to make it interesting.

·         Create an E safety poster.
Children will be using online learning a lot more so please reiterate the rules of being safe online.

·         Write a book review of a book that you have read on J2e5 or in your journal.

·         Practice your handwriting every day, ensuring your letters sit on the line, your letters are correctly formed and of equal size.

Practise the letters c, a ,d, g, o

·         Draw a picture using only 2D shapes

Practical
·         Counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s of all your adult’s coins.

·         Measuring different things in their environment, using a ruler of 30cm or whatever you have at home. Find out what objects are shorter and which are longer.

·         Hunt around your house for items with measures on it (grams, kg, ml, l)

·         Play a board game with your family. Remember to write about this in your diary entry.

·         Make a healthy meal with an adult.


Creative

·         Offer to help your siblings while they are doing something.
 ·         Create a map with a key of your house or bedroom
 ·         Create your own rocket using household items.

·         Cosmic yoga (YouTube)

·         Suggested PE exercises (See Appendix)
·         Create your own dance sequence to music.

Online
·         Create a E safety poster
·         Listen to an audio book online
·         Draw a picture using Purple Mash. Can you change the colour and thickness of your pen?
·         Write facts about a France. (What is the capital? What is there national food? Flag? Currency? Language? Landmarks? )
