The school is in enforced
closure during the coronavirus pandemic.
We are aware this is a unique challenge for families and the school has
created a package of advice for you to help you cope over the closure
period.
Staying

The school will publish news
updates for you frequently. News items
will be posted on School Ping. Details
of how to support learning at home will be published on the school blog (http://geariesprimaryschool.blogspot.com/). Details of online home learning can be found
on the LGfL website, access granted using your username and password logins,
details will be available on our Blog.
News of re-opening arrangements
will come via SchoolPing.
Home
learning
We have prepared a daily home
learning routine for you to follow during the closure, complete with suggested timings. We hope you are able to follow this. Children have been shown how to do the home
exercises already, and how to log onto the online learning links.
Children are advised not to
exceed one hour of online learning at a time.
Please check what your child is accessing to ensure he/she stays safe
online.

High needs SEND children have already
been given a personalised learning programme to follow, that will be more
appropriate to meeting their needs.
To support home learning, we
have given each child a new Home Learning Diary to use, a blank work book and a
collection of additional reading books. We
hope these will be useful for you.
Cosmic Kids Yoga
Yoga is a great activity for your children to do (you could even try doing it with them!). Some of your children will be familiar with this activity through Cosmic Kids Yoga which can be accessed via the following websites:

Remember that you need to keep a close eye on what your child is accessing online.

Tests
All SATs, phonic screening checks and multiplication tables tests have been cancelled. Details of alternative assessment arrangements have not yet been released.
School
cleaning
Whilst we are away, we have commissioned a thorough antibacterial deep clean of our premises. This will be completed by the time we return.
