News and events
Staffing news
Please join us in welcoming our new colleagues to the school and help make them feel at home!
New class teachers – Mr Choudhury (class 3K) and Mr Sadeeq (class 4C)
New Parent support Adviser – Mrs Haider
New SEN Practitioners – Miss Dissanayake, Miss Joy and Ms Najmi
New Midday Assistants – Mrs Bruff and Mrs Akuji
They have all taken up their new posts with us, at the beginning of the term.
We have also recently appointed Mrs Saleh as our temporary Finance Assistant. She will be starting in the week beginning 22nd January. Her role is to cover whilst Mrs Bhandal-Tratt is on maternity leave.
Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)
We wish to congratulate Mrs Dias, Mr Lea and Mrs Waters who were all appointed in December as SLEs to our Teaching School Alliance. They will be supporting other schools to improve standards of teaching, leading and learning. We are very proud of them.
School expansion
The school’s SLT and governors recently met with the project managers for our planned building extension. They confirmed the project is on course for starting in 2018 and the works are expected to be completed by July 2019. The specifications for the building have been agreed and the proposals have gone out to tender. We expect the actual works to begin in August 2018. Although it is disappointing to note another delay for the construction to begin, we have been assured by the local authority the eventual opening date is still going to be met – September 2019.
We will continue to keep you updated on further news.
New Parent Governor
We recently held a parent governor ballot in December. The turn out was exceptionally high with nearly 200 votes cast. We are happy to announce the following result:
Votes cast for Gagandeep Bansal – 90
Votes cast for Aliar Hossain – 102
We wish to congratulate both parents for generating such an excellent turnout and we congratulate Mr Hossain on his election to our Board of Governors. He will be attending the next full Governors meeting on 6th March. We look forward to working with him in the future.
