Our plans for the school expansion are well underway. I am sure you have viewed the plans for our new extension, which were displayed in the school hall last month.
We are expecting the next phase to begin in the summer. A new mobile classroom is going to be installed next to the Year Two classes over the summer holiday. This will be the additional year one class.
We also have prepared amended timetables for the classes. These will come into effect in September. We expect the major building works to begin in the autumn term.
We plan on trialling the new timetable in the week beginning 19th June. All of the changes are to be made to the sessions within the existing school day. The beginnings and ends of the school day will remain the same. The children’s working day will remain the same; we have merely re-arranged the order of lessons and lunchtimes.
Most of the day will remain the same. The major changes are for the lunch period, where it will be necessary to have a longer break over two hours. All children will still have only a one hour lunch period, however we will need to spread the Infant and Junior dinner times over a longer period, as opposed to both at the same time.
If any of our plans need changing they will be made during the week. We hope to use the trail week to get ready for full implementation in September. More news will follow once the trail has been completed.
