News update 14/3/24

 Spring Disco

Children and staff alike really enjoyed a great night’s entertainment last Friday.  Both sessions were very well attended and staff and members of the PTA worked hard to ensure the event went smoothly.  Our thanks go to Miss Lee for excellent organization on the day and ensuring everyone knew what they were meant to do.  We raised an amazing £3,835.13, well done everyone on a splendid effort.  Monies will now be used to subsidise year group trips, visitors, resources and special events up to the end of the year.

Early Years Curriculum

Mr Lea has been working hard to produce a map of our current Early Years curriculum for everyone’s reference.  Many members of our team have had an input into the final version, which can be found on our school website.  Included are the Nursery, Reception and transition to year one elements.  Please spare a moment to review the contents.  Each half term unit is summarized on one page, and attractively presented.

VIP opens local Lidl

A new branch of Lidl opened on 14th March in Newbury Park.  Aaron from Year 4 was chosen to open it as part of his birthday celebrations.  What an amazing privilege.  You can see him in the photo here, getting ready to cut the ribbon.  We hope he enjoyed the event, and had fun being a VIP for the day.

Parent governor role

The school is currently seeking nominations from parents for the vacant position of parent governor.  Details on the application process can be found on the blog.  The vacancy exists as Farhana Patel’s term of office has come to an end.  We would like to thank her for her hard work supporting our community over the past 4 years.  Her input has been greatly appreciated, we wish her well for the future.
