I can confirm that I have formally announced my retirement from the school at the end of the school year. I have been the Headteacher here for 26 years and have been blessed with serving an amazing community of professionals, governors, teachers, support staff, children and parents. The school has been a defining part of my life for over a quarter of a century and I will miss the joy the job can bring. However, the time is right for me now to stand down as Gearies is stable and thriving, and I feel confident the Board of Governors have enough time to appoint an outstanding replacement ready for next September. More news will follow in the coming weeks of the process of recruitment.
