World Book Day 2023

As you may be aware, World Book Day is Thursday 2nd March. Due to planned events in the school, we have decided to celebrate our school’s World Book Day on Friday 10th March 2023. This will also coincide with our annual visit from the book fair.

The children are invited to dress up for the day in a costume related to their class book. Please see below the different year groups and themes.

Nursery: Whatever next! by Jill Murphy (space themed)

Reception: Mini-beasts and garden themed stories

Year 1: Non-fiction books on the Arctic (polar bear/penguins etc)

Year 2: The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield (bears or musician/instrument themed)

Year 3: The Tin Forest by Helen Ward (Tin or jungle themed)

Year 4: Krindlekrak by Philip Ridley (please see teachers for wider ideas)

Year 5: Adventures of Odysseus by Hugh Lupton (Greeks and Trojans)

Year 6: The Night Diary by Veena Hiranandi (Indian Independence)

We look forward to seeing the children be inspired by their love of reading and learning on Friday 10th March.

Thank you for your support.
