 Staffing news

You will be aware that Mrs Akbar will be leaving us on Friday 24th February.  We thank her again for her contribution to our school community and wish her all the best for her family relocation..  

We are happy to confirm a number of appointments following interviews this week.

Ms Acquah-Fynn will be joining us on the 13th March as the new Welfare Assistant, replacing Mrs Akbar in the school in that role.  

Mrs Khan and Ms Faez will be joining us on Monday 20th February as new midday assistants.

We look forward to working with our new colleagues, please welcome them to our school and help them feel at home.  

School Reports

All 6-month school reports will be sent out to parents via School Ping on Monday 20th February.  Our thanks to Mrs Heys for managing this enormous workload so successfully.  Class teachers should have uploaded their booking system on School Ping by now, to receive appointments for the two upcoming parent consultation meetings.  Please let your child's class teacher if you are having problems booking a convenient time and date.  

Safeguarding concerns

The school is committed to its role of safeguarding children in its care.  Membership of the Safeguarding team is presently:

Designated Safeguarding Officer - Mrs Dias (Deputy Head)

Deputy DSO - Mr Drew (Headteacher)

Senior teacher: wellbeing - Mrs Moore (Year 3 Senior teacher)

Parent Support officer - Mrs Jarrett

Pupil Support Officer - Mrs Haider

If any parent or carer wishes to raise a safeguarding concern, they can make contact with a member of the team via the school office by phone or email.  Many of them are also available in the playground to talk to at the start and end of each day.  

Out-of-school hours concerns can be raised by sending an email to the school office: admin@geariesprimaryschool.co.uk.  The Deputy DSO monitors these each day.
