The Chancellor announced in parliament on Thursday his funding strategy for the coming years. Included in the statement was a very welcome and significant increase in school budgets over the next two years. This will help address a lot of schools’ funding challenges with a return to previous school funding levels. We await to see the true detail of the award and what it means for our school, however it is a significant intervention, long overdue. It is pleasing to note that the government has listened to the concerns raised by schools and has taken a responsible step in the right direction to redress a decade of underfunding.
