Mourning for the Queen

The school has received updated advice and instruction from both the government and our local authority on next steps, marking the passing of our Queen. Our response has been influenced by feedback from the school community, thank you to everyone who has contributed to the process of knowledge gathering. The following list describes all further actions we will be taking.

The expected day for the state funeral is Sunday 18th September. The DfE have confirmed that all schools will remain open as usual during the period of mourning.

If anyone wishes to sign an official Book of Condolence, there are six sites open to do this: Central Library, Hainault library, Goodmayes library, Wanstead Library, Woodford Green Library, Valentines Mansion.

Floral tribues can be laid on the SOuth Lawn behind Valentines Mansion in Valentines Park.

Finally, we plan on installing some permanent memorials on school site, including dedicating a new tree and creation of a new Tapestry to record milestones from the Queen's reign. These will be planned for later in the school year.
