 Keeping cool

Previous advice on looking after children in a heatwave still remains, all teachers will be following the following guidance:

Children should not really be wearing too many clothes, it’s a good idea to ask them to take sweatshirts and jumpers off

Encourage children to drink water all through the day

Encourage children to wear sun-cream before coming to school

Encourage children to wear a sun hat when outside

Insist children to sit in the shade for parts of their playtimes

  • There will be no PE lessons next week

We may consider further measures next week if the heat continues to rise.

New catering Provider

As you may know, we have opted out of the ISS contract and will be moving to a company called Pabulum for our catering requirements from September 2022.  This decision was made following a detailed tendering process and a tasting day.  Pabulum are making quite an investment in the kitchen and dining hall as part of the contract.  The Junior hall will also be getting a make-over in presentation.

New INSET days

We have now agreed dates for both of our unused INSET days for the rest of the school year, both have been approved by the Board of Governors under Chairman’s action.  On Monday 26th September 2022 and Monday 16th January 2023 we will be closed for staff training – our local Maths Hub will be supporting our teaching teams with maths training on both dates.  Please note the dates in your diaries.
