This Risk assessment documents the steps to be taken to manage cases of Covid-19 in the school as from 25th February 2022. This is the latest review, which contains details of recommended responses in line with the latest government guidance issued on 21st February.
• Children and staff are encouraged to wash hands or use hand sanitiser when entering rooms.
• All members of staff are strongly advised to take two vaccinations and a booster to protect themselves from infection.
• Mask wearing is encouraged for members of staff in all communal spaces (corridors) and when meeting parents.
• All rooms need to continue to be well-ventilated. The levels of C02 can be measured using our C02 monitors, ventilation should be adjusted in response to the meter readings.
• All members of staff need are encouraged to undertake a LFT twice a week, whilst we still have access to free LFT kits. The DfE are not issuing schools with any more free supplies, so we only have a limited supply left. Staff do not need to report new test results to the office.
• Access to the site for visitors and parents will continue to be restricted, eg our previous arrangement of having virtual parent consultations will continue and we will delay the return of school events parents can attend until local infection rates reduce. This is not likely to be before the summer term.
• We have a responsibility to protect the health and safety of staff and pupils at school. If a child, visitor or employee is unwell, they should not come to school until they are feeling well.
• Members of staff should follow our usual sickness reporting arrangements, and inform the Headteacher immediately of a positive case.
• If a child, visitor or member of staff have a confirmed case of Covid, he/she should isolate for 5 days. They can return to school after that period if feeling well enough to do so. It is not necessary to test during or after this period.
There are no longer requirements for close contacts with positive cases to isolate or take tests. NHS Test and Trace system has been dismantled and the service will no longer be available to us.
