Covid update
You will be aware that the Prime Minister has introduced new safety measures into England to help reduce the spread of Covid, and the new Omicron variant in particular , the advertised Plan B. Although the measures are aimed at the whole of our society they do not impact on our current management plan, as it stands. We are very pleased that the measures taken to date have successfully managed the pandemic within reason. New pupil infections continue to be at a high rate, up to four a day at the moment, but staff cases are very rare. The new infections mostly arise from contact with infected parents or people outside of school. There are very few cases where we suspect infection within the classroom, at the moment. We continue to implement the school’s Management Plan and will do so for the start of spring term. This includes the following:
- staff wear face masks in school communal spaces
- each member of staff is expected to take two LFTs a week t check for infection
- hand washing is encouraged throughout the day
- anyone with symptoms is sent home to get a PCR test
- classes with new cases are informed by SchoolPing
- New cases are reported to the Local Authority
- The only trips happening at the moment are the Year Four swimming lessons
- Visitors to the school have to take a LFT test before entering the school
- All parent meetings are online
- Shows and assemblies are recorded and parents are given access to them online
In January we are organising tours of the school for parents thinking of coming to the school next academic year. The maximum number of guests will be four, there will only be one tour per week.
