 Step-4 easing Covid protections

The government has recently issued guidance to schools on what preventative measures should remain in place after July 19th. Almost every current action in place currently to prevent transmission of the virus will be removed, however we have decided to keep the following actions to protect the community. As from our return to school on September 1st the following will still be in place:

• Class bubbles will not be in operation

• The school will not operate contact tracing on positive cases. This responsibility will be taken up by the NHS.

• Any child or member of staff who has been confirmed as positive will need to go to isolation for 10 days, however close contacts do not need to do so unless they show symptoms.

• Lateral flow tests taken by members of staff twice a week will remain as an expectation.

• Teachers are not required to wear face masks in school communal areas, however if you wish to do so, this will be OK

• All rooms and halls should have windows wide open throughout the term to aid fresh air flow

• We will be cleaning the school in our usual schedule, the extra cleaning provided at lunch times will cease from September

If you have any specific questions on the arrangements for September, please feel free to ask.

Dressing appropriately to bring children to school

Parents should always dress in a respectful way when bringing children to school.  Coming to school in pyjamas and dressing gowns is not appropriate.  Please set a respectful example to the children in always getting dressed for the journey.

Tuition handouts on the street

A private tuition organisation has been handing out adverts to parents on Gantshill Crescent for summer tuition classes.  We would like to be clear we do not endorse this organisation or the services they provide in any way.  We have asked them to stop handing them out.
