Local Covid rates

It has been great to welcome the children back to school this morning.  The latest news on local Covid infection rates is very promising:

  • The local case numbers have continued to fall over the past week, continuing the trend since the start of the year
  • Case rates for Redbridge for last week were 67 per 100,000 down from 117 the week before
  • Results of PCR tests are currently 4% and 1.6% for LFTs
  • The R rate for Redbridge is now 1
  • Redbridge rates are now 11th in London (out of 32) and 184th in England (out of 314)
  • Our ward - Barkingside is no longer the most infected, we have dropped down the table to 8th (out of 23) with only 74 cases reported last week

These all represent a very positive picture and offer a good degree of reassurance on local risk.
