News update (15-1-21)

Online lessons

I am sure you would like to join me in saying a really big thank you to those teachers currently teaching online lessons and the co-hosts for their support.  This can be a challenging experience, especially if they are spending the majority of their day online.  We are providing an excellent education to the children and I am very proud of the team effort in creating and managing this.  I am fully aware that managing children’s learning at home can also be very challenging for some parents, especially if there are more than two children at home.  Some parents are having to balance the responsibilities of working from home as well as supporting their children’s remote learning, if you need any further support and you think we can help please get in touch with the school office.  Our experiences during Lockdown challenge our emotional resilience, we look forward to a time when the children can return to school and when it is safe in our local community to receive them.  This may though be quite a long way off, remember everyone in the UK is going through this with you and we all must keep a positive outlook.

Covid Risk assessment

The new update to our Risk Assessment will be ready to share with you shortly, please be patient if you are waiting to read it.  The contents are being reviewed to ensure we include responses to the new Covid variants and our management of learning during the new Lockdown period.  You may want to note that our expectations around wearing face masks in school have not changed, children will not be expected to wear them in school and members of staff are also instructed to only wear masks when travelling around within the school, not in the classroom.  This would impede a teacher’s ability to communicate effectively with the children during lessons.
