News roundup - Friday 22nd January

 Covid-19 tests for school staff

All members of staff on-site as from Monday will be asked to take two Lateral Flow Tests per week, the test kits have been delivered to the school this week by the NHS.  The intention is to test for asymptomatic cases, which are hard to identify, before infection is spread around our community.  We hope this adds greater reassurance to parents and children that we are trying all we can to keep the school a safe place to learn in.  The tests are conducted at home before colleagues come to school.  Any positive cases will result ina review of close contacts, which may result in class bubbles being sent to self-isolation.  We hope this doesn't happen but there is obviously a possibility that transmission may return to the school.  You may also be reassured that there have been no cases in either children or members of staff of infection on site since we returned to school on 4th January.

No live lessons on Wednesday afternoons

Your child's class teacher will be in touch shortly with details of remote learning for the coming week.  We have decided not to provide live lessons on Wednesday afternoons, and to provide a blend of recorded lessons and independent study instead.  The teachers will be using that time to make our own recorded lessons for use in coming weeks.

Live booking opens for Parent Consultations

Reminder - You will be able to book appointments for the virtual Parent Consultation meetings from 8pm tonight.  These meetings will take place in the week beginning 8th February.  Bookings are made on SchoolPing only, details should already have been sent to you by the class teacher.  You will receive a copy of your child's mid-year report by the end of half term.
