Vaccinations Public Meeting

A massive thank you to all Community Leaders who played a pivotal role in the success of last week’s Vaccinations Public Meeting. As a result of your help, nearly 250 residents tuned in live to hear from local health experts on topics ranging from the science behind vaccine safety to information on the rollout in Redbridge. Since then, 750 people have also viewed the recorded version of the session on our YouTube channel. Some residents have shared kind feedback with us, and to our local health expert panellists who made the science behind the vaccine and the rollout easy to understand, and I’d like to forward that appreciation to you all too as you have been instrumental in making the meeting a success.

Over 120 questions were submitted on the chat by residents, and whilst not all were not answered on the day, please be assured this will be covered in our Q&A document, which we hope to share in the next few weeks.

We have managed to split the Q&A portion of the video into individual videos covering key aspects of the vaccination process, so keep an eye out on our Twitter and Facebook channels so you can share this with your communities.

Please continue to share our YouTube recording of the vaccinations public meeting, which I have added below, to ensure those who were unable to join the meeting live can benefit.

Some useful vaccination resources

Please find attached the East London Health & Care Partnership’s public bulletin, which includes a vaccination update, some key resources and information on mental health support.

For any vaccine queries, please see the ELHCP website and frequently asked questionsA new chatbot is also now available to answer vaccine questions on topics such as having the two doses, priority groups and phasing and the vaccination centres in North East London. This is proving a valuable source of information and in the first week of being live, has had over 150 conversations – please share the link above as widely as possible.

Additional translated vaccine information is now available in Hindi, Polish, Romanian, Gujarati, Punjabi and Urdu:

The situation in Redbridge

Although the situation with regards to case rates is improving in Redbridge, our hospitals are still under considerable pressure, hence it is essential we continue to advise our communities to follow the national guidelines and the Hands, Face, Space advice.

The death rate in Redbridge is alarmingly high. Last week, 70 people died in Redbridge, averaging to 10 deaths a day. The only way for this rate to drop is for our communities in Redbridge to stay at home unless absolutely essential, so that we can protect the NHS and our local hospitals, and therefore save lives.

A massive thank you again for helping us both with promoting the vaccinations Public Meeting and for helping to #KeepRedbridgeSafe.

All the best,
