The Government announced on Wednesday a list of key points regarding a possible exit from Lockdown, including the following:
- Schools will not reopen after the half term break
- A review of vaccination rates and infection data will take place on 15th February with a view to whether it is safe to begin to reopen schools from March 8th. This does not mean that all classes will return on that date, it is merely the earliest date when this can happen, pending the review.
- Ministers are considering support for a programme of catchup over the next financial year. This will involve further funding for targeted tutoring and catch-up provision, and ideas around summer schools are being considered.
- Plans to devise a road map for taking the country out of lockdown will be made on February 22nd, details will follow that date. It is hope our current national restrictions will start to be lifted from that point on.
We will continue with our current provision, which is working really well at the moment, until the government make a confirmed decision on what will happen on March 8th. Thank you to the staff working both in school and at home on a fantastic job. As soon as details are confirmed by the government we will share them with you and the school’s response will be outlined.
