Covid Christmas 2020

The school’s ability to support a normal round of Christmas events has been seriously impacted by current Covid restrictions.  This year will be very low key, the scaling back of events is necessary to keep our community safe and continue to reduce the risk of infection.

Christmas films

All year groups will be creating a film to share, based on Christmas themes and stories.  These will be available to watch in class on the last day of term as a mini Christmas film festival.  We will also share them with parents on year group blogs.

Christmas cards

Please do not send actual cards in to give to members of staff or other children, to prevent the passing on of viral infections, an e-card is safer.  If you wish to redirect monies that you would have used to buy cards I have some suggestions: you could make a donation to our charity drives (see below) or buy a toy for Mr Lea’s Magpie Project (Christmas gifts for local children in need).

Charity fundraisers

On the last day of term we will be holding our own Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for “Save the Children”.  Children are asked to make a donation on the day of at least £1.00.  All monies raised will be divided between Save the Children and the Book Trust, who are donating books to vulnerable children as a Christmas appeal.
