Next week is the last official week of school term. The children’s last day is on Thursday. It is a busy week as expected for year end.
The new class teacher allocations for September will be published on our Blog on Monday
My enormous thanks to the hardworking team of staff who have been giving our Mitchell library a facelift recently. The team, led by Louise and Scott, have been sorting and reorganising books and rebranding the facility ready for a September launch. The have worked very hard so this is ready for classes to visit when we return.
Most of the Summer Learning Project packs are ready to be collected from the school office. Please ensure you come in before Wednesday to pick your child's pack up. Each pack contains details of a learning project for four weeks over the summer. It is important each child completes their project as this will support progress with learning and prevent a serious degree of learning loss before we return to school in September. We hope everyone enjoys their activities.
Each child will be invited to attend a Zoom meeting with their new class teacher on Monday 20th July. Please watch out for login details on a Ping message. This will be an opportunity for the children to meet their new class teacher and t talk about plans for the summer weeks.
All children are due to return to school on Thursday 3rd September.
Year One and Two classes start at 9:00am.
Years Three, Four, Five and Six start at 8:50am.
The end of the day for all classes is still 3:15pm.
Entrance will be by one of the two main playground gates - signs will be posted to show which gates to use for each year group. Years 2, 5 and 6 should use the gate nearest the flagpole. Years 1, 3 and 4 should use the gate nearest the Wellbeing Shed/Zen Den.
Parents should be prepared to say farewell to their children at the gate, parents will not be allowed on site. On arrival children will cross the playground and enter the building at their entrance door. Staff will be on hand to help everyone get to the correct classroom. Class teachers will be waiting in their classrooms to greet the children.
At the end of the day, parents can enter the playground to collect their children. There will be a clearly marked line across the playground which must not be crossed, to prevent transmission of the virus. Each class will line up on the side nearest the school, and children will leave as soon as parents arrive.
Enquiries to teachers can be made at the end of the day, not in the morning.
Please ensure the children bring back their summer learning projects with them on the first day.
More details of our Risk Assessment will be published soon.
Reminder - all planning is subject to change at the last moment, depending on the local status with the pandemic lockdown. You are recommended to check this blog each week for an update.
