Construction Diary: week forty three

The construction work is progressing well.  This week roofing tar was applied as part of the process of sealing up the roof ready for the final covering.  We are expecting the exterior cladding and windows to be installed over the next two weeks.  This will probably mean the scaffolding will come down, giving the first view of the exterior aspects.

We are currently negotiating with the local authority on a budget to complete the proposals for the playground.  We will be part funding this ourselves and the PTA are seeking sponsorship from local businesses for individual elements eg fitness machines, canopies and benches.

Finally, we are also awaiting a negotiation meeting with the local Highways department on ideas for reducing car travel to school.  We have suggested new locations for additional bicycle storage, and we are aware of the proposals for the installation of two pedestrian crossing points in Waremead Road and Gantshill Crescent.
