News and events
Staffing news
Since our last Newsletter we are very sad to announce that Mrs Yershon (Midday Assistant), who has been off sick for the past 18 months, lost her fight with cancer and recently passed away. She had been a valued colleague in the school for 14 years and will be sadly missed.
Please join us in welcoming Mrs Skrzdlewska to the school in her new role of SEN Practitioner. She will be joined by Mrs Saleem, who has been promoted from Midday Assistant to the same role.
Sport Relief 2018
Our recent fundraising activities for the Sport Relief charity were really well supported. To date we have raised a total of £1,962.50, which will be split between Sport relief and UNICEF, as per the wishes of the School Council. We would like to thank Ms Holmes and Miss O’Reilly for organising the events on the day, and everyone who gave so generously to the appeal.
Full attendance certificates
An impressive total of 133 children received full attendance certificates for the Spring Term 2018. Well done to all those children on their impressive achievement.
School expansion
Progress with the building work has been slow and dogged by delays. The final designs have finally been agreed and have been put out to tender for building companies to bid for the contract. We expect the actual works to begin in August 2018, and finish dates are expected for the end of the summer holiday 2019.
PTA events
The two end of spring term Easter Parties, organised by our PTA were both very well attended. The children really enjoyed their time. Our thanks go to the members of the PTA who planned and organised these events. We are very grateful for their hard work.
The next big event is now the end of summer Fun Day. This will take place in the afternoon and after school on Friday 13th July. Please put the date in your diary and watch for more news.
