IOE’s
Professional Development Quality Mark
We are delighted to
announce that our Gants Hill Partnership Teaching Alliance has been awarded the
highest level, gold, for the Professional Development Quality Mark (PDQM) by
the UCL Institute of Education.
The award is a
testament to the quality of the Partnership’s approach to professional
development. In achieving the
award, the GHPTA had to demonstrate:
·
a clear vision and strategic approach
to professional development;
·
that professional development supported
school improvement and outcomes for pupils; and
·
that it effectively evaluated the
impact of its professional development.
All
schools within the Alliance found the PDQM an extremely useful tool in assessing
the quality of their professional development systems.

Recent Charity Collections
We are happy to announce that the school community raised the
following totals for the named charities during the recent charity events:
-
Barnado’s £223:61
-
Sport Relief £243:63
Thank you to everyone who supported the collection of these
monies, which will now be sent to the charities intended.
· Governor news
Our Board of Governors has welcomed two new members to the team:
Mr Mohammed Absar, our new parent governor, and Mr Jameel Nobeebaccus, our new
Staff governor. They both attended
their first meeting on 22nd March. We still have a vacancy for a co-opted governor and are
trying hard to find a candidate with the appropriate skills to complement our
current membership. More details
about the Governors can be found on our website.

School Choir
We are pleased to confirm that our
Choir performed at the bi-annual Redbridge Schools’ Music festival held at the
Royal Albert Hall on 15th March. The children greatly enjoyed themselves and were proud to
represent the school at this prestigious venue.
We were delighted that so many of you joined us
to view our first ever Pop-up Museum event after school on 17th
March. Each class made a display
for the Museum; we were also joined by the team from the Redbridge Museum and a
film exhibit of archives from Redbridge history.
