Big Faitrade Breakfast

Dear Parents and Carers,

‘Before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half the world.’ Fifty years on from Martin Luther King’s famous speech, food still connects us to people across the world more than ever.  Let’s SIT DOWN FOR BREAKFAST and STAND UP FOR FARMERS.

On Friday 4th March, 2016 at 8.15am, we are organising the ‘Big Fairtrade Breakfast 2016’ in our ‘Junior Hall’ to show our support for the people who grow our food and make sure these farmers get what they need to look after themselves, their families and the environment.

We, therefore, would like to invite you to come and have this healthy breakfast with us, which will be managed and run by our children. The menu will include some Fairtrade products to help raise the Fairtrade awareness amongst our community. Some of these products will be bread, butter, jam (Fairtrade), tea, coffee, bananas (Fairtrade), cereals and milk. The cost for each breakfast will be £1.

This is a fantastic chance for us to get everyone to reflect, with your support, on the importance of a good breakfast and the impact we have when we choose Fairtrade.

Please show your interest by completing the reply slips sent home as soon as you can. Hope to see you all on Friday 4th March.
